Importing Sumac Ledger Entries into Simply/Sage

Importing Sumac Ledger Entries into Simply/Sage

To import into Simply accounting, do the following

  1. In Sumac, go to the Ledger Entries list. Search for the date range of entries you're interested in to find the list of entries to export. Under "Analyze & Report," click "Simply (Sage 50) Accounting" to run this report. Sumac will save this report to a file.
  2. Once you've produced the report in Sumac, go to Simply/Sage.
  3. Once there, go to File > Import > Import Transaction
  4. Pick the format of Simply50 Accounting
  5. Choose your file, and Simply will automatically import it and tie it to the contact that already exists in the accounting system.

Note: When Sumac sends this data to Simply, it is sending General Journal entries, not Sales Journal entries. This is because Sales Journal entries require a .imp file insead of a .txt file. Sumac only generates a .txt file of General Journal Entries, which cannot be used when importing Sales Journal entries into Simply/Sage.
