Why am I being asked to re-enter my password?

If you have access to Payments in Sumac, you may be asked to re-enter your password when opening or viewing payment information. This can happen even if you are already logged in to your database.

Why does this happen?

Payment information is especially sensitive, so Sumac adds an extra security check before allowing access to it.

If you have been inactive for 15 minutes, Sumac may ask you to confirm your password before showing payment information again. This helps protect payment data if you step away from your computer or leave Sumac open.

Who does this apply to?

This only applies to users who have permission to view Payments in Sumac.

You will only be asked to re-enter your password when you try to access payment information after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Can this be turned off?

No. This security check is required so Sumac can meet PCI-DSS requirements, which are the security standards for protecting payment information.

Although it may feel repetitive, this extra step helps keep payment data secure.
