Antivirus software detects, prevents, and removes viruses and other malware from your computer. It scans data—web pages, files, software, and applications—traveling over the internet to your device. It searches for known threats and monitors program behavior, flagging anything suspicious.
Occasionally, Sumac may be blocked by antivirus software, especially during the initial download or when sending bulk emails. This is usually due to antivirus settings, not an issue with Sumac or the antivirus software.
Antivirus scanners identify viruses based on behavior, such as downloading and installing files. When you install Sumac, it downloads necessary files, which can be mistakenly flagged as malicious. The Sumac installer (found here on the official Societ website) is signed, confirming it's genuine and safe to download.
Some antivirus software scans outgoing emails, including those sent via Sumac's Bulk Email tool. If Sumac is blocked, adjust your antivirus settings to trust Sumac or disable email scanning temporarily.
