Release Notes - Sumac - September 2026

This Case Portal release adds new ways to keep leadership connected to program impact, makes online forms more flexible, and improves everyday work with client records.

New! Monthly Impact Summaries for Executive Directors

Executive Directors can now receive a clean, one-page monthly email summary of key service-delivery numbers. This makes it easier to stay connected to organizational impact and support board, funder, and planning conversations without needing to log in regularly.

Other Case Portal users can choose to receive the email in Case Portal by going to Settings > Communication Preferences.

More flexible online forms

Capture the contact details your organization needs

The form builder now includes additional contact fields, including business address and contact details, extra residential phone and email fields, and Communication Preferences. This gives organizations more options to map form submissions directly into the appropriate contact fields.

Automatically assign new contacts to the right Segment

For Contact Create forms, administrators can select a Segment for the form. New contacts created from that form will be assigned to the selected Segment automatically. This helps organizations keep program-specific contacts organized and ensures staff with segment restrictions see the forms relevant to them.

In addition, when sending forms to existing clients, users will only see forms associated with segments they have access to. For users with segment-limited access, forms outside their permitted segments, as well as forms without an assigned segment, will no longer appear as available options.

More secure form setup

Only users with Administrator permission can access Online Form setup.

Clearer birth-date entry and more complete records

Birthday fields now use a date picker:

And PDFs of submitted forms now include custom-field values as well as standard fields.

Faster, clearer client-record review

Contact lists and Case History now use pagination to make large sets of data easier to work with.

Case History also supports filtering and sorting, so staff can separate Case Plans from Case Notes and find the information they need more quickly.

And the Online Form Submission list now displays fields in the same order they were set up in the original form.

Creating contacts is more flexible

You can now create and edit Case Portal contacts without an email address. We have also renamed the Residential Email to Personal Email.

These updates will be available when you log in on September 4, 2026. If you have questions about these changes, please contact our support team.
