Release Notes - Sumac 4.6.0
What’s new
We’ve made it easier for our customers to run recurring searches! With this release, we have expanded the option to save searches within the Sumac database.
In the Advanced Search Area, we have the buttons for Load and Save.
Click on the “Save” button and a new window will open. A description of the search can be added then click “Save” to save the search.
Once the search has been saved, the saved criteria will now be an option when the load button is clicked.
This option is also available on all other search modules in Sumac, including List Builder and Search Builder.
We’ve released an Integrated HTML Editor that will help our customers craft nice looking email templates for:
Fundraising Asks
Donation Thank Yous/Acknowledgments
Membership Confirmations
Notices
and any other emails you would like to send using Sumac’s built in emailing functionality.
To access the New HTML Editor, go to Utilities > Customize Database > Field Values.
Then go to Communications Area > Document Templates.
Click on the “New” button at the left hand pane, or double click an existing Document Template to open a new window. On this Window, there will be a button to “Edit On Web”.
Clicking on “Edit On Web” opens a dialog box where the type of template can be selected.
Once the “Start” button is clicked, a new browser window for the Email Template Editor opens. Instructions on how to use the editor are laid out in the editor.
Clicking “Save Template”, closes the editor and saves the template into the database.
IATS and Stripe payment processing within Sumac and our Online Donation and Membership Pages for Donation and Memberships has been updated to comply with recently introduced PCI regulations. This update changes how credit card payments are processed - from using encrypted credit card information to the use of security tokens. Simply put, adds security to donors and members processing payments on your Sumac Software and Online Pages.
No action is required from our customers as these changes will be happening at the back end.
We’ve also added a new Terms and Conditions message on our Donations and Membership Online webform. The change helps our customers comply with new regulations involving recurring credit card payments - and will show up whenever a recurring donation or a membership with recurring fees is selected.
*note: the contact email address will be replaced with the customer's contact information.
These terms and conditions are also indicated on the automated confirmation email that is sent to the donor or member.
New Look For Online Donation Pages
New Templates have been released for our Online Donation Web Pages. Customers who have an Online Page can reach out to our support team to go over their design options.
Here are some example of our new templates:
These pages can be matched to the color, font, and overall look of the website.
We’ve got some exciting updates for our customers! The Case Management and Specialized Modules have undergone a substantial overhaul - helping our customers do more, better!
Here are some of the more notable changes we’ve introduced.
With the Sumac 4.6.0 release, we are introducing the initial phases of our Case Management Dashboard. With this dashboard, our customers can get a snapshot of their nonprofit program’s performance - improving their program oversight.
Sumac’s Case Management and Specialized Modules provides our customers with the flexibility to create customized areas and fields to capture the information our customers need to track for their unique needs.
Until recently, technical limitations lead to a maximum total of four modules and a predefined limit to the number of fields we can create.
With the release of Sumac 4.6.0 we’ve unlocked this limitation and can now offer our customers as many specialized areas and fields as you need, so you can now have as many specialized areas by department, program, or service!
We’ve made it easier for our Case Management customers to get specialized areas for the different programs or services that they offer.
Specialized Modules have been developed for:
Admissions and Discharge
Helpline
Outgoing Referrals
PPS Measurement for Palliative Care & Hospices
Program Usage
Case Plans
Case Notes
and Transitional Shelter Records
These specialized areas are ready to be deployed to our Case Management Customers in a quick and seamless manner.
If you have programs that could benefit from any of the Specialized Modules mentioned above or if you have a program or service that could use a specialized Sumac area - get in touch with us at satisfaction@silentpartnersoftware.com. We would love to explore how we can help!
We’ve added a new feature that allows you to re-order specialized areas. Customers can now sort their specialized areas in order of importance, recency, alphabetically, or in any order that makes sense for them!
Contact our support team at support@sumac.com if you would like us to re-order your specialized areas.
With this release, we’ve also made some other improvements to the interface. Some of the more notable updates are:
We’ve also added dedicated fields “In Honor” and “In Memory” in a Donation online page as well as a Sumac Donation record.
Performance improvements for international customers
We’ve addressed performance concerns for customers who are outside Canada and the United States. This change will help increase loading speeds and should reduce instances of the database freezing while a customer is trying to open records and navigate tabs.
This release also introduces a number of modest improvements that help improve our customers' experience while using the software. Some of the these notable improvements include:
A “New Document” button within the Facts tab, for easier File Uploads.
Sumac Reports now snap to the top when opened.
We would love to hear your feedback about the changes made in this release. Please let us know at product@silentpartnersoftware.com
