How to login to your Sumac database

All Sumac users must be created by an Administrator of your Sumac database and provided their username and password (Adding new users to your Sumac database).

Once you have received your personal login and password from your Sumac Administrator, you have two options for how you log in:
  1. Sign into Sumac with the login and password provided by your Sumac Administrator (and your Organization Name or ID if this is your first login on a new machine), or
  2. If you have a Google account, you can use the "Login with Google" option to login using your Google account instead.

To login with your Google account, you must first connect your Google Account to your Sumac user profile. To do this, follow the instructions below:

1. In the Sumac login window, enter the Sumac username and password provided by your Sumac Administrator, then click "Login with Google." Your web browser will open, and you will be prompted to select the Google account you want to link, and log into it.

2. After you've successfully logged into your Google account, you will receive a confirmation message.

3. Return to the Sumac login window and click "Login."

Congratulations - you've successfully linked your Google account to your Sumac user profile!

The next time you login to Sumac, you can sign in using your Google Account with just a couple of clicks. Just click "Login with Google," choose your Google Account, and you're all set.

A note for Sumac Administrators: The information on the Google account linked to a user profile is visible in each user's profile (under Utilities > Sumac Administration > Users):

If someone on your team makes changes to their Google account (e.g. changing the email address or password), they must disassociate the previous Google account from their Sumac user profile.
Each user can do this themselves in their Google Account Settings, under Security > Manage Third-Party Access (Manage third-party apps & services with access to your account).

Once done, they can follow the steps above to re-associate their updated Google account credentials with their Sumac user profile.
