Each contact in Sumac can have up to three addresses:
When you run a print mailing, Sumac automatically chooses which address to use in the following order.
Sumac first checks whether the contact has a Vacation Address.
If one exists, Sumac also checks whether it is currently active. Vacation addresses can have a start and end date, allowing Sumac to use them only during a specific time of year.
Next, Sumac checks whether a Business Address has been entered.
If a Business Address exists, Sumac looks at the Use this address for mailings checkbox.
The Residence Address is the default mailing address.
If neither the Vacation Address nor the Business Address qualifies, Sumac automatically uses the Residence Address.
Email mailings work a little differently. Instead of choosing between address types, Sumac sends emails to any address in the contact record that has the Send to this email address checkbox selected.
