Can Sumac track Payment Processing fees for donations?
When you are using Sumac for online donations, our online donation pages allow the donor to cover the processing fee. If the donor chooses to cover the processing fee, Sumac will capture this in two places:
1. In the Donation record, in the Total and Receiptable Amount fields. According to the CRA, the full amount the donor has paid can be considered a donation, and should be receipted. As such, when a donor chooses to cover the processing fee, the Total and Receiptable Amount fields will include both the amount of the donation and the amount of the processing fee.

According to the Canada Revenue Agency's guidance, charitable tax receipts should be issued for the amount in your possession.
If you have more questions on this topic, or need more information on gifting and receipting, please visit the CRA website
here.
2. In the Payment record associated with the donation, there is a field for the Processing Fee Amount. This is easily visible in the Payment record, and can also be shown as a column in the Payments list allowing you to review the payments and see how much donors have paid in processing fees.
